How to use the Spray Booth
Watch the video below (or here on YouTube). Anika walks you through the whole process, including cleanup. While this is filmed at RCC, the process at RCS is the same!
Book a time slot to use the spray booth! This is not the same as a normal glazing appointment. Since only one person can use it at once, this is important!
You absolutely MUST wear a respirator to spray glaze. Glaze particles are not good for us to breathe!
Consider dipping a layer first. Often spraying a layer of glaze over a dipped layer of glaze gives a nice variation.
It can be challenging to gauge the thickness of sprayed glaze. Practice will help!
When spraying, slowly turn your project on the banding wheel while keeping the sprayer about 10” away from the object.
Clean up! Wash the sprayer and spray clean water through it when you are finished.
Recommended Masks
KN95 disposable masks are okay, but a Reusable 3M Respirator is best. Invest in your health!
