scholarships for 10-week classes

Give to our scholarship fund

Scholarships have been dispersed for Summer 2024
You are welcome to apply for the following session beginning in September 2024 - if a space opens up sooner, we will contact the next person on the list!

The mission of the Rain City Clay is to engage and build community through clay.
We recognize that financial barriers are one way that limit access to participating in classes. If financial aid would enable you to attend one of our programs, please fill out the form below. (We are not a 501c3, just a small business trying to help others experience art). Please consider the funds and space you are taking up by applying for tuition assistance. Funds are limited, if you can afford classes or studio access at full cost, please do not take the scholarship funding from another interested student who cannot afford tuition costs.

Rain City Clay offers 10 recipients 50% off a 10-week class.

Application Process
Please fill out the application form below to receive financial assistance. Your information will be automatically added to the list in the order it is received. All applicants and their applications will remain private.

Participants are eligible to receive financial aid once each calendar year. The funds will be dispersed to applicants in the order the applications are received. If you are offered a scholarship and you choose not to use it, you will be taken off the list. You are more than welcome to add you name back to the bottom of the list. If you are offered a scholarship and cannot take a class at that time, you may defer and use the scholarship in a following session.

What Is Included
Recipients will receive 50% off for registration of a 10-week sessional class. Awardees have the option to receive a set of beginning pottery tools included in their disbursement. One 25-lb bag of clay is included in the scholarship. Subsequent bags are $40 for new clay or $15 for reclaim. Glazes and firings are included with the clay.

Growing the Fund
Each person registering for classes may offer to add on an additional amount to their registration to build this fund to make classes more accessible. RCC will also grow the financial aid funds through community raffles at Open Studio events.

Notification Process
Rain City Clay staff will email you when you are up next for a scholarship. Reply back within 4 days to receive your code! If you cannot participate that session, reply back to stay on the list, and you’ll be first in line for the following session.

IMPORTANT! Once you have received your registration code, register for a class as soon as registration opens, otherwise you may miss the class you want! If you do not use your code after the 3 day expiration, we will pass your space on to the next person on the waitlist.
