We are honored to welcome Wendi Hawley of Niche (Ballard) as a featured guest for our Community Clay Day. Wendi is a dynamic presence in Seattle’s craft community, known for creating spaces that connect artists and audiences through thoughtful exhibitions and events. As the founder of Niche, she champions regional makers and fosters an inclusive, community-driven creative environment. We’re especially excited to collaborate with her on an upcoming exhibition of Rain City Clay staff and instructors at Niche this September, and to hear more about her work and vision during her talk.

Get creative and try clay at this fun event. Be prepared to get dirty and have fun!
You must register below for an appointment to participate on the potter’s wheel.

Sign up for a free group session:
12:30-1:30, 2:00-3:00pm or 3:30-4:30pm

  • 16 participants per session

  • Free to sign up and participate

  • An instructor will guide participants through throwing a simple shape on the wheel.

  • Kid friendly. Suggested for 6 years and older.

  • No food or alcoholic beverages are allowed during the event

  • Session does not include firing or keeping any pieces made during the class - this event is just a short event to have fun and try clay. At the end of the session, we will make a big pile and squish up all our efforts.

  • Wear clothes you feel comfortable getting muddy, and/or bring an apron.
