There is a 15” maximum size, in any direction, when creating with clay at RCC.

You must be 15+ years of age to participate. This class is a great fit for those new to clay as well as those wanting to grow their skills with an instructor present to ask questions. Bring an apron, comfy clothes, a quart sized container (like a yogurt container), and a beginner's set of tools to the first class. Tool kits are available for purchase online or at SPS or CAC. Or here is another option on Amazon. The class fee includes one bag of clay (25 pounds), all glazing materials, firings, and generous open-studio access for practice time. All levels welcome - come join the fun!

About the Instructor:
Brooke Felix (she/her)

Bio
Brooke is a Tacoma-based artist in Washington State. She began her journey with clay by taking a pottery class at Green River College. Following those classes, she volunteered at Green River till 2020. Brooke was an assistant to Deborah Schwartzkopf at Rat City Studios in West Seattle from 2020-22.

Since her departure, Brooke is in the process of building a home studio.

Artist Statement
Brooke explores a fusion of memoryscape, intention, and vision. Adding pops of color with underglaze to pay homage to the urban LA and Seattle skyline, and using an earthy red and raw clay body represents the Arizona desert. By making her vision come to fruition her goal is to have a place when your day begins, from a hot cup of tea to making a breakfast sandwich on a plate.
